This song started to take shape as I was walking back from a NYE Spectacle show. I was on the other side of the street from a bar called Maxwells, and some girl who looked pretty drunk was sitting on the sidewalk out front with her head in her hands, so you couldn't see her face, kind of kind of hunched over. Close to her, was this homeless guy who was kind of trying to "check in" on her to kind of make sure she was ok. And I kid you not, AS I was watching this scene, the clock DID strike twelve and from the bar came pouring the shouts and screams of the partying masses,...as well as the prince song 1999. I thought to myself, I'm going to try and draw that in my head. Buyer Beware is the result.
